Storage is not memory.

A drive is a filing cabinet, not a brain. It holds the record perfectly and can still answer nothing about it — because nothing ever read it. That's true of one laptop, and true of twenty years of shared drives.

Kept, backed up, filed under a name someone chose once — and never understood by anything since. In organisations, 55–90% of what's stored is dark data. Your own drive works the same way; nobody has ever bothered to count it.

What happens when you add a file.

It gets read and indexed once — what it is, who and what it mentions, how it connects to everything else, and where each of those sits in the original. That reading is kept. So when you or your AI ask something later, back comes a card: the passage that answers it, the file and page it came from, and how sure the match is. If the card isn't enough, the full file is one step away. Your files are yours and only yours — zero data retention, never trained on your IP.

What you give up

A short card is the default, not a limit. Sometimes an answer only shows up if you read the whole file, and a card can miss it. Your AI can always ask for the full thing — but short is what it gets first, and that trade-off is real.

Counting is where we lose. Ask how many of something exists across everything you own and an ordinary text search still beats us, unless your AI picks the counting mode we ship — and right now nothing tells it to. That’s a gap at our end, and it’s on the list.

Questions we get in beta conversations.

Do you supply the AI?
No. Claude, Copilot, Cursor — or your own agent — does the thinking. Find and Seek is the memory it asks: it remembers your material and answers with the source. Running the analysis locally as well — saved, repeatable, governed — is built and behind an experimental flag; it ships when it survives the same testing the memory did.
How is this different from RAG or a vector database?
Those do all their work at the moment you ask — you put a question in, they go and find text that looks similar, and they never actually understand the material. Find and Seek understands it once at ingest and keeps that. Retrieval fetches what you asked for; a memory brings back what you didn’t know to ask for.
What about knowledge graphs?
A knowledge graph needs someone to decide, up front, what kinds of things exist in your material and how they relate — and then keep that definition current forever. That works when the material is uniform and somebody owns the model. Most collections aren’t: they’re twenty years of mixed documents nobody ever labelled, and building the graph is expensive before it answers anything. We pull out the facts and how they connect without asking you to define anything first, and we do it on video and audio too. Where a graph genuinely wins is a chain of explicit hops over a well-defined structure — “everything connected to supplier X through subsidiary Y.” If that’s your question, a graph is the better tool.
Is there anything it’s worse at?
Yes — counting. “How many of these exist across the company” is answered faster by plain grep than by us, unless the agent uses our count mode, and nothing yet prompts it to. We publish that here rather than let you find out.
Do my files have to move to the cloud?
Yes, instant setup with zero file retention. We enforce a zero-retention policy on raw files after indexing, we never train on your data, and your search index belongs exclusively to you. Works straight away without complex setup or hardware constraints.
What formats does it read?
Documents, email, code, spreadsheets, images, video with timecodes, audio and transcripts — one engine, one ask surface, citations back to the source.
Is this a full retail launch?
